| It is the unknown that excites the ardor of scholars, who, in the known alone, would shrivel up with boredom. |

| the physical |
♣ Hair: Brown, short, rarely as neat as he'd prefer. ♣ Eyes: Blue, occasionally framed by glasses. ♣ Height: 6'0 ♣ Weight: 170lbs ♣ Distinguishing Marks: A cowlick that keeps a bit of his hair sticking up in the back, no matter what he does. A birthmark on his shoulder. One tattoo (exactly what, tbd). ♣ Dress: Well enough. His clothes are never the most expensive, but they're good quality and made to last. He prefers button up shirts, ties, trousers, and jackets- all immaculately pressed (or as close as he can manage). Avoids kilts if he can help it. ♣ Favorite Outfit: Pressed trousers and a button-up shirt. ♣ Speech: Softspoken. Used to stutter as a child, still does when nervous, flustered, or particularly excited. |

♣ His favorite color is blue. ♣ Cameron has always been a studious boy- even as an infant, he liked to study the world around him, to try to figure out how things worked. ♣ His first language is English, though he did grow up hearing both Irish and Scottish Gaelic. He's also fairly proficient in Greek, Latin, and French. ♣ He is very much an introvert. ♣ He considers himself a jack of all trades and master of none. ♣ Cameron isn't a very good cook. He knows enough to get by (and certainly isn't as bad as Jamie in the kitchen) ♣ He's never felt like he was where he belonged-- until he met Jenny. ♣ Cameron's always been closer to his mother than his father. ♣ His parents often teased that Cameron was born 35 years old. |
| the history |
♣ Cameron is the first and only son of Finlay and Alannah, both muggles. ♣ Finlay and Alannah were a couple that weren't ever really supposed to be together. Finlay was a distinctly middle class Scotsman, who met Alannah- a fiercely Irish schoolteacher of much higher standing in society. They met in their early twenties, fell in love, and eloped. It took them almost six years to get pregnant. ♣ However, they were overjoyed to welcome Cameron into the world when they were finally able to have a child. ♣ Cameron was born prematurely, and had trouble developing- he didn't begin speaking until much later than most children his age, and when he did, he had a stutter that never completely went away. ♣ Alannah quit her teaching to stay at home with Cameron. When he was old enough, she began homeschooling him. ♣ Cameron was never much of an athletic sort of boy- whatever time he spent outside was spent collecting leaves or bugs or wee things to bring inside and study. ♣ He had few opportunities to interact with other children his age; whenever he did, he always felt distinctly out of place. ♣ Cameron was never particularly overweight, never particularly ugly, or particularly rude. He was a polite boy, if a bit quiet, but he never quite fit in. ♣ There were always strange things happening around Cameron- little things, which he never realized until he received his Hogwarts letter. ♣ To be honest, Cameron didn't know what to think when he received the letter to Hogwarts. He and his father thought it was a joke, but his mum thought it would be such a grand adventure! ♣ So, the September after his 11th birthday, Cameron found himself on the train to Hogwarts. ♣ Hogwarts was fascinating, and Cameron was quickly sorted into Ravenclaw. He made only one or two friends- he never got particularly close to anybody. ♣ Cameron never got involved in any clubs or activities at school- he spent much of his time in the library to study as much as he could. ♣ During his summers at home, Cameron spent much of his time studying the other things to keep up with other (muggle) children his age. ♣ Upon finishing Hogwarts (near the top of his class, no less!), Cameron decided to go on to Muggle university. He just liked studying too much. ♣ When Cameron was 23, his parents took him up to the Highland games. It was only his second time there-- he felt again out of place, and was wandering the tents when a girl half in costume nearly tripped into him. She was late to a dance competition, and he helped her to lace up- she kissed him (his first kiss!) and continued on her way. ♣ Cameron was taken aback, but even later, he found that he couldn't get her off his mind. It was a strange feeling for him, as he'd never experienced those kinds of feelings for anybody before. ♣ He found her again by mistake, in a shop that her father owned. They began to talk a little, and Cameron kept making up excuses to go into the shop, even though he knew quite little about Quidditch. It was the most time he'd spent in the wizarding world since finishing Hogwarts. ♣ Jenny was the one to ask him on their first date. There was a party for New Year's Eve, and she invited him to join her. He said yes, of course- how could he deny her anything? ♣ One date quickly turned into two, and then three, and so on. They soon got serious, and he proposed as soon as he had the courage to-- it took a while, for Cameron had quite a few issues of his own to work through. ♣ They were married nearly three years after they met, and it took some time before they began a family of their own. |
